On Saturdays Parap Village markets bustle about the otherwise quiet location of Caf’ Parap. Its outdoor tables and unassuming facade give way to a restful interior infused with oriental decor and a Parisian touch. Prices may look a tad high at first glance, but the food is excellent and definitely worth the extra spend. The ambience is relaxed, friendly and tranquil, with attractive artworks enhancing the two rooms of the cafe and the beautiful array of cupcakes and muffins behind the counter signifies the quality of catering. And where else will you find scrambled eggs with caviar?

Caf’ Parap serves breakfast from 7am to 11am (and until closing on market day), and light lunches, tea and cake until the mid-afternoon. Breakfast options include the spicy “eggs el rancho” – salsa and guacamole topped with two fried eggs and garnished with tabasco and unleavened bread. A gourmet muffin, served hot, is a treat any time of day – try the cherry ripe version with its luscious black cherries, melting choc bits and sprinkling of icing sugar and toasted coconut. Iced chocolate arrives tall with a maraschino cherry nestled on top; other refreshers include homemade lemonade and sparkling iced raspberry tea. Harrods full-leaf teas are in keeping with the beautiful tea cakes. Light meal options change weekly, covering gourmet sandwiches, wraps and salads. And, if you’d like to get a Caf’ Parap fix at home or in your office, this charming eatery offers delivery and catering of its homemade wares within the locality. Caf’ Parap opens daily except Sundays.
