Re-opening in a bigger, more prominent location earlier this year, the family-run and owned Ben’s Bakehouse has fast become the top spot in Darwin city to pick up tasty baked delights. Everything is baked daily on the premises, making the food on offer taste ever so deliciously home-made. They also offer excellent coffee, freshly made sandwiches, fruit salads, and can happily cater for any sized function.

Whether it’s something sweet or savoury, Ben’s comes up with the goods. A huge selection of cakes, tarts, eclairs and slices are available, as are pies, sausage rolls and pasties. The sausage rolls are a particular standout – a secret recipe that has people literally buying them by the boxful. The carrot cake is another Ben’s favourite – make sure you get in early if you’d like to try some; it’s all gone by lunch time. With plenty of seating available, Ben’s makes a great spot to just sit and relax with a delicious snack and coffee. The very friendly and bubbly staff roaming the premises plus the low prices ensure you’ll be making this a regular stop in the Darwin CBD.
