The Beachfront Hotel on Darwin’s northern foreshore boasts a capacious breezy deck facing the gorgeous Rapid Creek and Casuarina beaches. The indoor/outdoor bar and casual seating make this an informal dining venue or a stop-off for a refreshing cool drink. Brekkies on the weekend are a must, with facilities opening early at 8am. The foreshore bike track runs directly in front of the restaurant, and the beaches are stunning to walk along in the early morning cool or as the sun sets. With a drive-through bottle-shop, pool tables and a lively evening vibe, the Beachfront is popular with both locals and tourists. There’s plenty of easy parking out the front, shading on the verandah, sunset views, and a clubby indoor section where live entertainment rocks Thursday to Sunday nights. The Beachfront features local bands and entertainers so don’t miss out on Top End talent!

The Beachfront serves classic Aussie pub grub from its own Turtles Bar and Bistro – seafood, salads, burgers and plenty of steaks. Kids have their own special menu. Lunches are served daily from noon till 2pm, and dinners from 6pm to 9pm. Book in for the Monday night value-for-money $15 barbecue special – there’s nothing better after a hard day than a relaxing cold beer on the deck as the sun hits the sea in all its tropical glory, and a snag singes the air with that unmistakable outdoor Aussie aroma.

I had dinner with a friend there recently and would like to make a comment about the meal. We ordered the seafood platter at $27.50 each. The seafood was great,large variety, but at $55.00 at the end we were still hungry and had to order another dish. The problem is with the presentation and customer perception, everything was laid out singly on the platter which made it look empty, 6 wedges of lemon?. At that price the seafood should have been presented on a bed of chips or wedges with much more salad. One fan was not working on a hot night, how long does it take to repair/replace it? Otherwise a great venue with excellent atmosphere and attentative staff. I will be back.... review 21/01/2012
