Verde Restaurant + Bar is situated in picturesque Stanley Street, East Sydney’s iconic “little Italy”. This heritage listed, Victorian "Italianate" building has been brought back to its former glory. The interiors have undergone major works resulting in the restoration of original detail fused with contemporary design. Verde's vision has been to create a complete authentic Southern Italian dining experience, a place where you can come and share the passion for Italian food, wine and hospitality. Special a la carte and canapé menu options are available and can be tailored to suit your function. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated on advance notification.
FUNCTIONS
Verde Restaurant + Bar offers flexible and intimate spaces which are available for all types of corporate and private special events. Verde can cater for any type of event including but not limited to Corporate Meetings & Functions, Product launches, Birthdays, Engagements, Weddings, Christenings, Christmas Parties, Hens and Bucks nights. There are three main areas available for functions, catering for groups of 8 – 60 people. The Private Dining Room, The Lounge Bar and The Main Dining Area. They also have a smoking courtyard which is accessible to all function areas.

Verde on Stanley Street offers a delectable slice of Italian sophistication from top to toe of its two storey restored building. Having been a butchery in its past life, the restaurant has kept the original exposed timber beams and the butcher sign can still be seen on the outside wall. Today, this corner positioned venue is modern and stylish. Big windows open out onto the street, ideal for watching the buzzing Stanley Street crowd go by. While downstairs holds the kitchen and the dining room, upstairs will surprise you. A beautifully decorated cocktail lounge with doors that open onto the balcony is the perfect place to have a pre or post dinner drink. A smoking room and a concealed sitting room are discretely placed towards the back of the building as is the elegant private dining room.
The boys at Verde are quick to tell you that much of their culinary success is owed to their Nonnas. The philosophy here is to add a modern touch to the traditional recipes that have been passed down through the family. The pasta, however, is made fresh every afternoon before dinner service suggesting that some traditions will never change. The menu flaunts confit of Muscovy duck with parsley and potato fritter, spinach and glazed figs as a favourite among punters along with the char grilled octopus with warm red peppers, grape tomato and baby leaves for antipasti. For dessert most try something a bit different - buffalo milk gelato with blue gum honey and fresh berries. There is also an extensive drinks menu including spirits, aperitifs and 'almost forgotten' cocktails.
