The Commodore Hotel is undoubtedly one of Sydney's most stylish pubs serving great bistro-style food, with the outside terrace beer garden being the life of the hotel. A great alfresco setting in North Sydney, manicured courtyard gardens and tantalising glimpses of the world's most loved harbour, plus great food form the restaurant, make this a top venue.

Situated just a short stroll down Blues Point Road from the North Sydney train station, the Commodore Hotel treads the fine line between rowdy pub and classy hotel. Large, creamy leather cushions rest on Balinese-style day beds beneath sun and wet weather awnings. A little bit more upmarket than your usual pub, the cosy fireplace and outdoor heaters are good for the winter months, but a small dining room and leaky outdoor area means you should avoid it during the rain. Attracting a North Shore crowd and a sizeable tribe of rugby fans who like to take advantage of the free beer (and champagne for the ladies) from kick-off to first point scored during footy season, it tends to fill up in the evenings.
