Garden Court Restaurant is located on the fifth-floor of the hotel. It is curved around the hotel’s semi-circular rooftop garden. Garden Court Restaurant has been reinvented in the style of an urban conservatory, with a striking modern dining room, an open kitchen and a central bar and lounge. Its interior design by the award-winning Ara Design Studio draws on heritage-listed elements of the existing building while introducing a contemporary look with custom giving it a unique garden setting. Furnishings inspired by the cafes and restaurants of Paris.
EXECUTIVE CHEF & TEAM
One of Sydney’s most established luxury hotels, the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth has welcomed a new Executive Chef and Director of Food & Beverage to its team. German-born Andreas Donnerbauer has joined Sofitel as Executive Chef, responsible for overseeing all hotel-related dining, in addition to the hotel’s leafy level five restaurant, Garden Court. Donnerbauer has a hotel dining pedigree that includes luxury brands including Marriott and Four Seasons where he worked in hotels across Hawaii, the Caribbean and Sydney. Prior to this he worked in his homeland of Germany as well as Switzerland, Italy and the UK. Wasting no time in breathing new energy into Garden Court restaurant, Chef Donnerbauer will officially launch his first new feature at the hotel – a new Wentworth Cheese Buffet concept - later this month in consultation with cheese expert, Will Studd, and Simon Johnson, Purveyor of Quality Foods.
