PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIALooking for something to fill the void? Something spicy, perhaps? Don’t worry, Roxanne is on stand-by to take your call. Roxanne is vivacious and fun loving, very accommodating and eye-catchingly beautiful. Roxanne has pushed the boundaries of what is familiar and boasts many happy customers who can’t stop raving about their experience. But don’t go looking for a red light just yet. Roxanne is actually a fabulous gem of a restaurant in Glebe, a bright star on the Glebe Point Road scene and well worth the hype. From the decadently glamorous dining room with its Moulin Rouge-esque decor down to the glittering chandeliers, Roxanne is unashamedly sexy and here for not just a good time, but a long time as well.
The dynamic duo behind the lovely Roxanne are Johhny Nguyen and Raj Shakya. Between the two of them they have taken the best flavours of Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan and Nepal and created an eclectic menu of Oriental cuisine fused with modern Australian favourites. The steamed seafood dumplings with char-grilled tomato chutney are an ideal way to familiarise yourself with the flavours that lie ahead, as are the salt and pepper prawns with Asian salad. The Cajun style seafood hotpot holds plenty of king prawns, scallops, squid and fish fillets in its spicy broth while the grilled Atlantic salmon with a chilli Bulgarian fetta salad is another unique standout. The wine list boasts a great blend of boutique Australian drops and some international visitors. So, go on, give Roxanne a call. You won’t be disappointed.
