With sparkling views over the water and a prime position between the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, Quay is synonymous with everything that is great about dining in Sydney – fabulous location, friendly service and fresh seafood. Situated at the northern end of the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Quay has undergone a name change and a spruce up to reflect the philosophy of the restaurant’s namesake. The Doyle name is a guarantee that the menu will boast superior seafood dishes and Peter Doyle at the Quay does not disappoint.

On a glorious Sydney day the only place to be is at an alfresco table by the edge of the harbour, with a chilled bottle of Australian white wine, a dozen oysters and an afternoon to while away. If the weather lets you down head on in to the stylish surrounds of the restaurant, where the views are just as good as those you see outside.

5 stars for location only. I was disappointed with the venue itself as it looked very tired...surely Doyle's can afford to re-carpet the restaurant? Service was fine but not as good as other fine dining I have experienced and the waiters and waitresses looked untidy. Basically I was shocked that it wasn't a lot better! Even the bill was just placed on our table - not on a plate or in a cover - just a cash register style bit of paper. Was the food good? Yes it was but main was served too quickly after entre. Overall I really thought that it would be a lot better. review 08/12/2011

Dining at Doyles @ The Quay is an experience not to be missed. The Salt & Pepper Calamari were cooked to perfection, and if you love passionfruit the dipping sauce is to die for. Crab Meat Limone was delicious and the angel hair pasta was cooked to perfection. The balance of flavours enhanced the crab and left you feeling that you wanted more. For dessert you can't go past the Passionfruit Tart - if I wasn't surrounded by other diners I would have licked the Grand Marnier syrup off the plate. If you haven't experienced Doyles its a must. The freshest seafood balanced with quality ingredients equals perfect flavours and a dining experience you will go back for again and again. review 05/12/2011
