If not, you’ve been missing out. This steakhouse buzzes not only with the electricity of large portions of food heading for very hungry people, but also with stunning views over Manly beach. It’s also the restaurant responsible for starting the Ribs and Rumps empire.
A few words of warning: when you come, prepare to spend some quality time with the menu. While it’s no secret what the signatures are (ribs and rumps, keep up!), don’t expect the selection to be easy. Ribs and Rumps offers six “famous” steaks as well as its specialities of Wagyu sirloin, “surf and turf” and lamb chops. To this it adds a selection of half and full racks of beef, lamb and pork ribs (and that’s not taking burgers, chicken or seafood dishes into account). Luckily there is an entire section dedicated to “combos” which might make the selection a little bit easier. Here you’ll find various types of ribs paired with rumps, as well as a chicken and rump, a chicken and ribs and a “ribs and ribs and ribs” combination. If you’re really indecisive – and hungry – the “mixed grill” which involves beef and lamb ribs, a sirloin steak, cutlets and a tangy beef sausage topped with a fried egg – is the way to go. If you get through your meal with room for desert take a bow (and expect applause) and glance towards the dessert menu. Here you’ll find hearty favourites like chocolate cake (available in a flourless version), sticky date pudding and banana split for two. And, of course, you should help your meal along with a cocktail, a beer or a glass of wine.
