LOCATIONOn bustling Crown Street.
PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAThe boho vibe and mismatched furniture lends this little cafe a touch of cool. Add to that the exquisite organic produce and you’re onto a winner.
A gorgeous double fronted cafe with large windows that front on to Crown Street; glamorous patrons spill onto the street sitting at the sweet little wrought iron tables, an outdoor couch or just pulling up a milk crate. The entrance-way is overwhelmed by a small kitchen, glass-fronted counters and a large menu blackboard. Wind your way through to the second room which is split over two levels and filled with coveted retro knick-knacks, gorgeous light fittings, mirrors and plants that surround the small tables and lend the cafe a homely feel.
The kitchen follows a similar, free-spirited direction. Produce is predominantly organic with cafe staples given a healthy twist. Start your day with baked beans served on five-grain bread with a selection of sides ranging from the expected bacon and mushrooms through to the sheep’s milk fetta. Lunches include all the traditional healthy gourmet fare; the organic chicken meatball sandwiches come highly recommended. Unfortunately this little cafe is yet to find its feet in regards to the service, with the too-cool and oh-so-attractive nature of the restaurant superseding their desire to get the meals quickly to your table.
