Entry to the site is through iron gates flanked by gatehouses, a high wall surrounds the Barracks creating a courtyard ideal for large scale events. Marquees can be erected in the spacious Southern Courtyard for sit down dinners for up to 350 guests.

Privacy and proximity make the Judges Common Room an ideal venue for CBD corporate meetings and presentations. Seating 30 people boardroom style or 60 people theatre style, this room features a range of audio-visual equipment, making it an attractive resource for business.

The popular Hyde Park Barracks Café can be hired for corporate events and wedding receptions. Seating between 20 to 200 people for dinner or catering for up to 500 guests for cocktails, the Café offers the best of modern catering within historic surroundings. Sleek wooden and metal finishes, and polished timber floors are juxtaposed with remnants of the original confinement cell, an open fire, and the original sandstone and timber domed ceiling above the mezzanine level.

I have never written anything on a restaurant before. I am not a restaurant reviewer. I don’t sit there with a note pad and take notes and I definately don’t go out and eat often. I believe Hyde Park Barracks Cafe is a place of interest to readers and people who simply enjoy the taste of good fresh quality food. Each restaurant is different depending on the guests, service food etc. This place has hit all the marks on everything you would expect from a great dining experience.
