LOCATIONGarfish Manly is located on the corner of East Esplanade and Wentworth Streets in Manly.
PROFILED BY DEGROOTS MEDIAKnown for their outstanding cuisine, Garfish’s reputation precedes them. However, the staff, the interior and the view at Garfish Manly are just as fresh as the seafood they serve. Looking directly over Manly Wharf and moments away from the lapping water, floor to ceiling windows take best advantage of the panorama and give the restaurant an ironic fishbowl essence. Television screens are positioned discretely around the restaurant and flick between the kitchen and fish facts. Diners can get a sneak peek into the backstage happenings and maybe pick up a cooking tip or two, or learn interesting information about each of the fish on offer for that particular day.
The fish are chosen everyday depending on quality and season. Each day the chefs list the fish and include a suggested method of cooking each one to bring out its greatest potential, after which you choose the style of flavours you prefer. For instance, the roasted New Zealand hapuka goes beautifully with sauteed savoy cabbage with confit garlic, eschallots, green peas and leek puree. Fish isn’t the only thing swimming around this menu, although the snapper pie with sauce soubise and steamed broccolini is a hot favourite. Soft-shell crab, oysters, squid and scallops are all handled with expert care and imagination. If the fruits de la mer don’t rock your ferry, the twice-cooked Asian-spiced duck with braised red cabbage and black bean sauce will be sure to suffice. Every month Garfish features a different wine and beer and you’ll notice that most of the wines on the menu are boutique labels that are difficult to source in bottle shops, making your Garfish experience extra special.

Garfish Manly offers this and more, with the additional of a wood fired oven.Roasting crustacean and seafood in this unique style will subtly enhance the high quality produce with a gentle smoke flavour.
