Food and Plonk was opened under its current management in March 2006. Its style is modern European, based on classic French techniques, and using the best seasonal Australian produce.
The seasonal menu changes every three months, with a constantly evolving wine list to complement it. Check the website for specials and upcoming events.
Head Chef Chris Turner’s trained in England and has worked in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and North America. Working with a base of 4 seasonal menus, he adds and alters as new produce becomes available. There are also daily specials so that there is always something new to try, even for regular customers. Consultant Sommelier, Guy Vailant, is well respected in Sydney wine circles for his superb palate. He samples the menu in order to find the perfect accompaniment for the matched wine by the glass, and constantly updates these as different wines mature and become available. The wine list, split into seasonal and reserve lists, offers boutiques that are not readily available in shops. Food and Plonk is BYO wine only Tue-Thurs,a nd fully licenced Fri-Sat.
FUNCTIONS
For events specialised beverage packages are offered at reasonable prices. The upstairs function room is available for corporate and private events or group bookings 5 days a week.
SPECIALS
Monthly degustation evening are held on the second Wednesday of every month from March to November. Enjoy themed 6 course degustation menus with matched wines. Prices vary but are typically $100 - 130 per head. Call for more information or to book.
