Warm, inviting and a little loud, Family Table shares many qualities with its moniker – and it isn’t short on family dining or tables for that matter. Spread across a generous area of Revesby Workers Club’s first level, it is a bright one-way service bistro/restaurant that has diners of all ages in mind. Its broad selection of meals – from entrees through to mains, sides and desserts – is displayed on a series of colourful lit-up menu boards which are split into helpful categories like “little ones” (for younger diners), “family favourites”, “from the grill”, “burgers” and so forth. However while the focus of the restaurant is fixed on affordable family dining, the quality or range of food does not suffer.

Fastidious diners are satisfied with starters like kilpatrick oysters and garlic prawns on Jasmine rice, mains like grilled Atlantic salmon (which comes drizzled with a white wine cream sauce and served with chips and a salad) and desserts like creme caramel. Diet-conscious visitors have salads and stir-fries to choose from, while families can get a roast or fish of the day or a curry and rice for under $10. In fact the entire menu is extremely well priced with most dishes – bar a family table mixed grill (which could possibly feed an entire family with its array of chicken satay, pork sausage, beef sirloin and lamb cutlet) and a surf and turf – falling below $20. On Friday and Saturday nights Family Table complements its modern Australian cuisine with live acoustic music performances.
