PROFILED BY DEGROOTS MEDIAEveryone should have a favourite pizza pie place, but if you don’t many of the Darlinghurst tribe will veer you in the direction of theirs. Danny’s La Bussola has made itself a cosy home on hectic Victoria Street by becoming the habitual go-to when the crazed pizza craving inevitably manifests itself. The Sweet Fuego, which literally means sweet fire, is laden with hot pepperoni, pineapple, mushrooms, parmesan, chilli, garlic and herbs and lives up to its radical title. The La Bussola pizza with bacon, ham, cabanossi, onions, mushroom and avocado is also a hot favourite. But if it’s hot you’re after, the L’inferno will certainly give you a kick in the pants.
While known for pumping out pizzas like a sprinkler system, Danny’s also serves up plates of barbecued mixed seafood and scaloppine al mango, which is tender slices of veal pan-fried with butter, shallots, mango, white wine, herbs and cream. Pick your favourite pasta and toss it with your favourite sauce – the team at Danny’s aim to please. It’s common knowledge that if you’re looking for some decent Italian nosh on Victoria Street, Danny’s La Bussola provides every time. A function room upstairs can cater for up to 30 if you’re looking to host a casual do.
