Located mid-way along the Cammeray shopping strip, this split-level restaurant has a striking appearance with a chocolate colour-theme that puts you in the mood for food. This, along with the sunken restaurant floor, combines to create the atmosphere of a luxuriously appointed cave. Upon entry you’ll find yourself in a cosy bar area with polished wood floorboards and plush, deep-brown leather sofas. After imbibing a pre-dinner cocktail or two, descend into the dining room with its banquette seating and atmospheric low-lights.

So what’s the creed at Credo? Well part of it’s about serving great food. Head chef Christien Darvall joined Credo after a stint travelling the globe seeking out different cuisines, flavours and techniques. His confit duck served with Toulouse sausage, white bean cassoulet and herb breadcrumbs is one of Credo’s signature dishes and exceedingly popular with those in the know. Other favourites include the mixed entree platter and, for dessert, the Credo bombe for two. The rest of it’s about catering to their clientele. Credo has a special oriented toward a different crowd nearly every night of the week: Sunday is for lazy housewives (or house-husbands as the case may be), on Mondays kids eat free, Tuesdays are for the boys and Wednesdays for the ladies, Thursdays boast two-for-one cocktails and live jazz, while Friday’s happy hour runs from 6-10pm. If you can’t find something to suit you in that list, then you must be impossible to please.
