The interior is an eclectic blend of colour and texture, while the entry to the restaurant is a jimble jumble of coloured flasks encased in lit glass displays – the bright red and orange intended to stimulate the appetite. Once inside there is no need to trouble yourself with a menu, dive right into the exquisite buffet selections that are fanned about the room like a tasting menu come to life: small spoons hosting tuna tempura with Ponzu dressed sashimi, theatre chefs tossing hot woks, a hot buffet bar and a seafood bar featuring sizable prawns and shuckable oysters.
There is an a la carte menu for those who feel like a lighter repast with offerings such as brioche fried fish and chips with chilli and lime aioli, and smoked tomato and forest mushroom arancini with roast pine nut pesto. You won’t want to eschew the dessert buffet, a Willy Wonka-esque paradise where skewered strawberries beg to be dipped in the chocolate fountains (one white, one milk chocolate), and mini cakes are stacked alongside cups of lavender pannacotta and feather-light French macaroons.
