Bistro Fax Restaurant & Bar could easily stand alone as a success without the support of the Radisson’s impeccable reputation.
We enter through the tall double doors atop the Radisson’s stairs on Hunter Street and marvel at the high ceilings and open space. Despite its large scale, the venue has a comforting and warm feel. Natural light streams in through the high windows that date back to the buildings genesis in the 1800’s. The warm shades of gold, bronze and cream of the decor are balanced by the dark mahogany tables and black polished tiles. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, with corporates coming for lunch meetings and couples enjoying a break from the city rush. As evening arrives, the tables are lined with candles and the atmosphere becomes a little more intimate. The service is friendly and attentive, and our waiter makes recommendations according to our preferences. Each dish is served as a masterpiece of presentation, and the crisp colours display the freshness and quality of the produce. The thyme roasted quail breast of the entrée is balanced atop a sweet French shallot tart encased in thin pastry. The symmetrical balance of the dish makes it an artwork on its porcelain plate canvas. For main, the roasted barramundi is dressed in cauliflower puree with scallops arranged delicately on top. The vanilla panna cotta dessert is layered with strawberry Chianti and basil sugar sauce. Tiny seeds of vanilla and strawberry burst with sweetness in the mouth. Every detail of the restaurant menu has been carefully selected to carry the artistic vision through fresh flavours that are delicately balanced and harmonious.
