Join the Bier Akademie at the Bavarian Bier Cafe. Visit the Bavarian Bier Café to gain some valuable knowledge as well as enjoying a fun evening out with friends. The Bier Akademie is limited to 20 attendants at $30 per person, which includes tasting beers, notes, presentation by Dominic Dighton and canape platters. Bier Akademie aims to demonstrate the art of tasting beer rather than merely drinking it. An extensive tasting that will teach you everything you need to know about a variety of premium beers including the hops, the beers characteristics, its history, and ingredients the Akademie samples, compares, and discusses five premium world beers, often including Corona, Heineken, Becks, Crown Lager, and Lowenbrau Original. Traditional Bavarian snacks are served after the course, and you will have the opportunity to sample more beer at the bar.

winelist

white wine selection

At Bavarian Bier Cafe you can choose from a selection of bier, wine and cocktails

Spaten Munchen A pale gold lager with a fluffy head and subtle herbal hop character. Spaten is given the honour of being the first keg tapped at each Oktoberfest.

Lowenbrau Original From an old and respected family dating back to 1383, Lowenbrau is a classic. The Original is a sweeter style of lager with a lingering aftertaste to be savoured.

Lowenbrau Dunkel ‘Dunkel’ means dark, describing the burnt copper colour and roasted barley flavours of this beer, which still retains the fresh, crispness you’d expect of a lager.

red wine selection

Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier Hell A fine wheat beer created by Bavarian monks in 1363 with an aroma and palate that marries banana, vanilla, and clove.

Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier Dunkel Unfiltered and naturally cloudy with a creamy latte-like head and almost no bitterness.

Lowenbrau Alcohol Free A great alternative for the designated driver.

Schnapps Along with original Bavarian schnapps, they also serve sweet varieties like butterscotch and pfirsich (peach). Beware – the infamous metre of schnapps will sort out the meister from the dummkopfe.

sparkling wine selection

Wine An extensive contemporary wine list is available for those yet to hear the siren call of true bier.

Cocktails Try the cocktails with a Bavarian Twist.
