PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAEveryone needs a tree change once in a while, and when you take a trip to the country, you want to experience the best of the area. The Harvest Restaurant is within the spectacular Sebel Hawkesbury Resort and Spa. The classic, colonial-style hotel enjoys the pleasure of manicured gardens, a country-style golf course and tennis courts all within the quaint town of Windsor. Harvest remains one of the most elegant restaurants in the area, and captures the spirit of the local farming community through its menus.
Walk through The Sebel’s plush entry and into the restaurant’s classic style of linen-lined tables and chic silverware for refined yet relaxed dining. The tables overlook beautiful landscape views with the Blue Mountains off in the distance, behind from which the sun sets.
A true taste of this country town is served on the menu, supporting the local Hawkesbury farmers and artisans who make the most of the surrounding fertile land. Fresh seafood is often drawn from the Hawkesbury River and is showcased best on the seafood buffet. It presents the bountiful catch of fish from the river, along with Sydney rock oysters, Blue Swimmer crabs, Atlantic salmon, baby octopus and more. Using the abundant vegetables and fruit from the region, the chefs also add some edge from Asian and European cuisines to create an extensive menu which shows off the unique character of the rural area.
After a leisurely lunch or dinner, locals and out-of-towners alike often stop by the Barracks Bar for a drink by the fire, or simply stroll through the gardens and take in the fresh country air.
