DETAILS
Bimbadgen Winery offers four distinct working areas all in one stunning destination - 40 year old vineyards, open-plan winemaking facilities, an award-winning restaurant and a four bedroom executive homestead. Enter the gates of Bimbadgen, head up the rose-clad drive and the first thing you will notice is the striking bell tower. Reminiscent of another great wine-making area, this fantastic Tuscan feature is also surrounded by acres of lush vines and gardens. The winery restaurant has contemporary design features including large glass windows and an open balcony allowing guests stunning views of the Bimbadgen vineyards to the Brokenback ranges. The simple décor with its light wooden tables and chairs creates a relaxed environment perfect for sipping a glass of wine or two. The Esca Bimbadgen private dining room is an exclusive retreat situated adjacent to Esca’s main dining area and bar. It has its own burning fireplace, semi-enclosed balcony and private access bar as well as a unique feature wall of fine wines.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Dedicated to the art of food and wine matching, Esca Bimbadgen's modern Australian cuisine, which captures the region’s true characteristics through seasonal produce and flavours, makes for a truly memorable dining experience. Executive chef Ebonnie Newby has created select dishes designed to be shared, and tasting plates, which are akin to mini degustation menus. Guests enjoy three ‘tastes’ from the menu, each matched with a Bimbadgen estate wine. A la carte is also available, and diners will be treated to a sumptuous feast of French onion soup with braised oxtail and Binnorie goats cheese for entrée or Blue Mountain duck rillettes, with beetroot jelly and toast fingers. For main course, select from braised Cowra lamb shanks with jus nicoise and preserved lemon or bouillabaise of blue eye, mussels, yabby and cuttlefish with baby vegetables. Dessert is equally delectable with the likes of crème caramel and pot roasted pear with almond crumbs or treacle pudding with black sesame ice-cream. The wine list offers not only wines from Bimbadgen, but a selection of wines from other Hunter Valley producers and classic wines from regional areas throughout Australia and the world.

Personal Statement
Bimbadgen Supports Local Produce in its October Hunter Gatherer MenuThe culinary team at Esca Bimbadgen have handpicked the finest local produce from Pokolbin to the Coast, to support local growers and farmers and showcase a true taste of the Hunter Valley in their ‘Hunter Gatherer’ menu available over the month of October.
The ‘Hunter Gatherer’ celebration feast will feature a six course set menu available everyday throughout October for lunch and dinner. The special event is part of the Crave Sydney International Food Festival, which also aims to promote the very best in regional food and wine.
General Manager of Bimbadgen, Rebecca Poynter said that it was important for Bimbadgen to support local produce and show off the best of the Hunter Valley and Esca Bimbadgen’s fine dining through their ‘Hunter Gatherer’ menu.
“Some of the ingredients for Esca Bimbadgen’s Crave Menu are handpicked from Bimbadgen’s backyard. For example, our lemon sorbet is made from lemons off our lemon tree. We regularly support local produce in all of our menus, but to have the challenge of sourcing absolutely everything locally is a great initiative everyone should get behind from an environmental, economic and freshness perspective,” Ms Poynter said.
The menu will feature delectable treats such as Port Stephens Oysters with Bimbadgen Semillon Granita, Sesame crusted East Coast Tuna, Hunter Valley Quail, Waygu and Duck, plus a beautiful strawberry and Bimbadgen Sparkling Rose semi freddo white chocolate brownie.
Foodies and wine lovers alike must not miss out on such a delight! For $120 per head, or $155 with matching Bimbadgen wines, for a total Bimbadgen experience. Join us to support the local industry and have an evening at Esca Bimbadgen you will never forget.
