French food is not easy to cook, many dishes are labour intensive and require expensive ingredients, so it is easy to justify eating out at La Boulavarde as often as you can afford.

The French menu is very traditional, the entrees consisting mainly of light salads such as Caesar salad, salad Nicoise or the interesting champignons a la greque (raw mushrooms, sliced onions, shredded parsley and French dressing). All the main courses are served with generous sides of fresh vegetables and potatoes, and the specials board is where you can catch the season’s best produce in French attire. In summer that might mean a dish of fresh figs served with prosciutto and gorgonzola sauce, or perhaps a plate of roast duck with sweet cherry sauce. Le Boulavarde is a sweet, romantic restaurant with good service and food worth mulling over.
