Living up to its name, Flame Restaurant and Bar is ablaze with warm-toned decor, sultry corners and fiery pizza and a la carte menus. Fitted out with burnt orange cushions, dark brown tables, chairs and benches, as well as weaved floor lamps, a smouldering lounge area and tropical flower arrangements, this restaurant sits somewhere between fine and smart-casual dining. The atmosphere is one of resort-style relaxation – alfresco terrace tables have a first-rate view of a magnificent waterfall feature which hints at exotic island destinations, while the warm interior enjoys the same prospect from floor-to-ceiling windows.

Alternatively diners can peer into an open kitchen where chefs play with live flames and bustle up spectacular Modern Australian cuisine and wood-fired pizzas. It is just enough to make you impatient to receive your meal – and for good reason. Whether you opt for the a la carte menu and order barbecue king prawns with garlic butter, lime and baby cress or Pacific oysters with salmon pearls, mirin and ginger dressing for entree, and a succulent chargrilled steak or a curry of steamed barramundi and blue swimmer crab with saffron and lemongrass jasmine rice for main, or pick one of the wood-fired pizzas (such as chorizo sausage with artichokes, mushrooms and kalamata olives), you will not be disappointed. The fare at Flame has been put together with seasons, produce and quality in mind.
