On Cliff Drive, Leura, in the Blue Mountain, 90 minutes from the CBD.DETAILS
Solitary occupies one of the most fortunate sites in the Blue Mountains, perched above the Leura Cascades on the scenic Cliff Drive between Leura and Katoomba. The dining room and garden offer views which extend uninterruptedly across Jamison Valley to the Southern Highlands. The building is heritage listed; a slate hipped-roofed, weatherboard Blue Mountains cottage, the tranquil interior flooded with an abundance of natural light.FOOD & BEVERAGE
Solitary is home to both a kiosk and a restaurant. The kiosk menu is quaint and English in inspiration. A Stilton rarebit grilled sandwich with shaved ham and branston pickle makes a comforting lunch, but nothing says cosy more than scones with house made jam, double cream and a pot of leaf tea. The restaurant is a more refined affair, with three course al a carte options. A hybrid of traditional technique and Modern Australian flair, you may dine on the likes of seared eye fillet with mushroom duxelle, gorgonzola bread pudding and grebiche butter to chocolate panna cotta with glazed figs, rosewater meringues & pomegranate. FUNCTIONS
Solitary may be hired exclusively for events. The restaurant accommodates up to 60 people banquet-style; anything larger must be held cocktail-style. The lawn may also be used to serve canapés, and is a particularly beautiful spot for a wedding ceremony.
