Tim’s restaurant is perhaps not an eatery guests happily stumble across one night, but it is definitely well worth finding your way to. Wind your way up the stairs of the Italo-Australian club to discover an establishment you may regret not finding sooner. It offers well-equipped facilities for small dates or large celebrations, and the happy convenience of easy parking. Indeed, even if you are not a member of the club, it is worth the nominal membership price to enjoy the dining experience on offer at Tim’s.


Tim’s restaurant offers a large variety of tasty and reliable Chinese dishes. Choices include all the dishes that diners are familiar with, as well as harder to find specialties such as rock salt silver fish. A stand out dish is the creatively named fluffy duck. The meat is stuffed with prawn meat and served with mushroom sauce, which, although it may sound strange to some, is an incredibly tasty combination of flavours. In addition to the à la carte menu, Tim’s is renowned for its Yum Cha. Available Friday till Sunday from 11.30am until 2.30pm, bookings are strongly recommended as the restaurant is often brimming with diners. The Yum Cha at Tim’s offers guests the chance to try a huge variety of dumplings, breads, and dishes such as sticky beef or its signature chicken feet. With friendly staff and a vast variety of choices, Tim’s Restaurant would be a great introduction to Yum Cha for Canberra residents who have never before had such an experience.
