Shortly after opening in 2009, the sleek and stylish Kennedy Room has quickly become one of Kingston’s most popular venues. Its success is due to its high quality food and drinks served in a modern dining environment. Catering to dinner patrons and bar guests, the venue has a sleek and edgy feel and has become the place to be seen after dark in Kingston. The polished silver bar takes the eyes’ attention upon entering and serves an extensive range of cocktails, wines and tipples. The cream banquettes and the dark wooden tables of the restaurant create a casual atmosphere where diners can enjoy relaxing lunch dates or a bite to eat after work.

The menu matches the contemporary feel of the décor with a modern Australian mix that features international influences. The entrées are designed for guests to also share like tapas dishes if in the mood for a communal dining experience. For a small-plate of light and fresh flavours choose the smoked trout and peppercorn rillettes served with horseradish cream and pickled cucumber salad. The caramelised roast pork belly with chilli and coconut vinegar is a richer dish with a slight twist, and one you’ll want keep to yourself. The tempting mains feature a brilliantly executed confit duck that is balanced with sweet potato and balsamic. The parmesan crumbed chicken main is served with warm potato, bacon and herb salad, and a tomato capsicum relish that ties the flavours together. In addition to the mains the restaurant is known for its gourmet pizzas which are a perfect choice to precede or follow drinks. A personal recommendation is the bianco - a light base sprinkled with mushrooms and a luxurious combination of fontina, Persian fetta, and bocconcini cheeses, and a touch of olive oil. The kitchen doesn’t take all the glory of the venue with the extensive bar serving an elaborate range of cocktails, wine and beer. This being so, the Kennedy Room is perfect for after-work drinks that slip effortlessly into dinner.
