LOCATIONIn the thriving new Acton precinct.
PROFILED BY DE GROOTS MEDIAMeze restaurant is situated in the new development on the edge of the ANU campus that is quickly becoming known for its affordable and tasty restaurants. Although students are more or less a captive market for the restaurant, Meze is no dingy student dive. Formerly known as Kismet Turkish Gourmet and the sister restaurant to the Manuka staple of the same name, Meze in Acton is light, bright and new. Meze offers not only kebabs and pides, but also a selection of mains, salad options and specials, in addition to a proper coffee selection. This variety means that the restaurant is bound to have something to suit most diners and dining situations, be it a morning coffee and pastry, a quick takeaway lunch or a sit-down dinner.
Highlights of the selection on offer at Meze include the large range of salads, homemade dips and breads, but many will not be able to go past the pides. The pides, available in a variety of flavours, represent excellent value for money and the freshness of the ingredients used is evident. Meze’s banquets are a recommended way to dine for larger groups as they offer the opportunity to share and sample a variety of dips, pides, breads, kabak (zucchini puffs) and other delights depending on the banquet chosen. The restaurant is also a very good choice for catering and its location makes it well suited to any business in Civic.
