Specialising in South East Asian cuisine (Laotian, Malay, Thai and Singaporean) this noodle house is open 7 days a week from 11am-10pm.
This noodle house combines all the good things to be found in Asian dining – long opening hours, short waiting time, no-fuss service, low prices, and unbelievably good food.

Walk past Dickson Asian Noodle House any day of the week and you’ll see a full-to-bursting restaurant with a line out the door. Where the surrounding restaurants sport a moderate trade, this eatery is on the verge on employing a bouncer to manage the crowds. The barest of decor graces the walls of the small single dining room which is packed with tables, and the menu is not dissimilar to other Asian restaurants. So what makes this place any different?

It’s quite simply really. Dickson Asian Noodle House delivers – not just to your door, but also on all the promise of the menu and more. The noodles are noodled to perfection, the greens are crisp and the crispy duck even crispier. The signature dish – and the most popular – is the laksa, brought out lightening fast and the best in Canberra. Hot, lemongrassy and filled to the brim with vermicelli and hokkien noodles, bean sprouts, spongy (in the good way) tofu, Chinese broccoli and your choice of beef, seafood, chicken, pork, combination and vegetarian, it is one of the most filling and tastiest meals ever invented. The service is no-nonsense, you can hardly hear yourself think and the menu is stock standard – but don’t delay, you won’t be disappointed.

I have been to a lot of thai restaurants/takeaways and etc in Sydney they do not beat our own Dickson Noodle House. The Cha Kway Teow is to die for especially the spicy one. The Pad Thai is great the texture is perfect the tofu is cooked the shrimps are tasty. Well the Chicken Laksa well you have got to taste it to believe it. just the correct amount of chicken and noodles. I would recommend everyone to eat at least one meal at the Dickson Noodle House I expect you will be going back for more.

Being from very far away overseas, little is known to us about asian food, except for noodles, rice and hot spices being some of the most characterisitc ingredients. Fortunately, moving to Australia allowed me to discover the delicacies, and many I had tried over the past few years. The day I stepped into the Dickson noodle house, i thought, here we go again, another asian restaurant. Except this time, I had been warned: order the laksa and you will be moaning for more, for it is the best in the country. Im not even that much of a soup or even noodle person, and I had tried laksas beforehand, only thinking of it as a flavoured broth, even harder to eat given my inexperience in use of chopsticks. That night changed everything. The first sip of the combination laksa simply stunned me. A sensory overload of flavours and accents, textures and warm curry broth... all of a sudden it all made sense. This is the best noodle house in the country. And thanks to this restaurant I have learnt to use chopsticks. The quality is consistent, and the management is serious, quite rare especially when some restaurants become popular, they tend to go cheap on quality, assuming that advertising turnover will always bring them customers. These guys dont need to, they've always had the stuff, and they dont need to cheat. Pure and simple goodness. A must try.
