Anise opened in September 2001 with Head Chefs Nick Carter and Jeff Piper, both worked together at Artespresso for 3 years. They are also business partners in this venture, ensuring the best quality produce and cooking with heart and soul. Everything from bread to petit fours are made in- house to ensure quality and freshness.
Anise has a small bar area, suitable for a glass of wine with a delectable terrine, or just for coffee and delicious dessert.
Anise is a casual, low-key restaurant with comfortable surroundings and friendly service.
In 2004 and again in 2005, Anise was awarded with the Tucker Seabrook Award for Best ACT Wine List. The Anise wine list supports 10 pages, and offers an attractive choice of quality wines by the glass and bottle. It also includes a extensive selection of local labels, and there is always a local wine to try by the glass.
August 2005 Anise won'Formal Modern Australian', in the 'Restaurant and Catering' Awards for Excellence. This award has been won by Anise for three years running.
In 2004 Anise won with Restaurant and Catering ' Awards for Excellence', and 'ACT Wine List'.
