PROFILE BY BEST RESTAURANTS
The Waterfall Cafe is tucked away at the back of the Homemaker shopping complex on Darwin's busy arterial Bagot Road, and one might be under the impression that unless you've got a hankering for coffee after shopping for a plasma television or a king sized bed that you'd have no reason to visit. Once you've experienced the delights the Waterfall has to offer though, you will definitely be making a point of coming back whether you require household appliances or not.
Upon entering the cafe, you'd be forgiven for mistakenly thinking you've entered the local provender – jars of gourmet delights adorn the walls, and your nostrils are assaulted with the aroma of freshly ground coffee. And one glance at the menu assures that this is no local greasy spoon, with a wide selection of freshly made focaccias and salads, as well as an always welcome variety of all-day breakfast treats. However, it's the Waterfall's Asian dishes you will want to be agonising over, with unbelievably tasty stir-fried noodle selections and laksas being the highlights. The restaurant-quality creamy prawns are also magnificent and will be the reason you decide to return here, although the delectable coffee and homemade preserves you will walk out with will also persuade you to make the Waterfall Cafe a regular stop.
