29 Nine 99

Just 40 minutes from Mudgee in the sleepy town of Rylstone is 29 Nine 99. The tiny space doubles as a yum cha restaurant and gift shop and attracts customers that travel from afar just to sample their renowned dumplings. Owned by artist Na Lan, who grew up in Xian (central Shaanxi province), the restaurant is named after the date she married her Australian husband, Reg (the 29th of September 1999). Sit al fresco, or dine indoors amongst the incense and brightly coloured knick knacks to enjoy your handmade dumplings and Chinese tea.
