Event Description:
For four days in March an incredible thing happens – the best restaurants, chefs and producers in Sydney march along to Centennial Park, set up stalls and kitchens side-by-side and provide foodies with plates of sensational cuisine at remarkably affordable prices. This great occurrence is called the Taste of Sydney and this year it will be happening between Thursday, 11 and Sunday, 14 March. Bringing all of the elegance (but only a fraction of the price tags) to the park this year will be Sydney’s culinary elite including ARIA, Pilu at Freshwater, Guillaume at Bennelong, Restaurant Balzac, Longrain Restaurant and Bar, Flying Fish, Bird Cow Fish, Jonah’s at Whale Beach, Buon Rocordo and Marque to name a few. Each of them will be offering their signature dishes, for a bargain price ranging between $8 and $12, to be enjoyed in the outdoor dining room. Also on display will be wineries to ensure your meal is never lonely.

On the entertainment side, apart from live music, you’ll be able to amuse yourself at the “Australian Gourmet Traveller taste kitchen” (where you’ll get to watch your favourite chefs in action), the “Taste Wine with Gourmet Traveller Wine Theatre” (which will do exactly what it promises with the assistance of sommeliers), the “Australian Gourmet Traveller Chef’s Table” (your opportunity to grill the experts over a glass of wine) and a producer’s market where you’ll be able to sample and purchase some great local produce.

The cost of entry into Taste of Sydney will be $27.50 for general entry, $55 for premium, $100 for VIP and $15 for children (6-17 years old). All food on-site will be purchased with the festival currency – the “crown”. For more information visit www.tastefestivals.com.au or to buy tickets check out www.ticketek.com.au. Session times: Thursday 11 March 5.30pm - 9.30pm / Friday 12 March 12pm-4pm & 5.30- 9.30pm / Saturday 13 March 12pm - 4pm & 5.30 - 9.30pm / Sunday 14 March 12-5pm
