Event Description:
Forget your pointy paper party hat; when St Kilda Festival celebrates it is foregoing the candles and party poppers and heading straights for the streets in an art, culture and food extravaganza. Starting on Saturday, 4 February and ending on Sunday, 12 February the beachside suburb of St Kilda will be filled with artists and performances of every kind, free for you to enjoy. So expect entertainment ranging from live bands to extreme sports as well as a decent, fun-loving crowd (last year more than 250,000 people took part).

On the foodie side, as part of the Festival’s “Live N Local” event, more than 40 St Kilda spaces, including cafes, bars and pubs will be hosting a heap of free gigs, art exhibitions and comedy shows. The St Kilda Beach Night Market will also be lending its stalls full of edible goodies and knick-knacks to the cause. And, as a special perk, this year all local businesses – including restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs – have been asked to pick their “best buy” to help you decide where you’d like to go and what you’d like to try.
