Event Description: Indulge your tastebuds with a five-course dinner, care of Glass Brasserie, and matching wine from Cape Mentelle, winery in the spectacular interior of this decadent Sydney restaurant. Glass Brasserie is celebrating its passion for the vine with a monthly wine dinner featuring its chosen favourites. On Tuesday, 16 September Cape Mentelle, one of Margaret River’s founding wineries, will have the chance to show off its range of award-winning wines with the backdrop of a floor-to-ceiling glass wall framing an impressive view of the Queen Victoria Building.
Savour the smooth tastes of the Cape Mentelle collection, including its Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, 2004 Marsanne Rousanne, 2005 Chardonnay, 2005 Shiraz and 2000 Zinfandel. Nibble on tuna tartare, tabiko, ruby grapefruit, miso and wasabi mayonnaise with fine herbs and lotus chips before moving on to a terrine of smoked hock, rabbit, foie gras and confit celeriac with pickled cherry, fennel and raisin toast. Devour quail with parmesan and mint stuffing, parsnip puree, roast parsnip drizzled with a grape and currant dressing, followed by Rangers Valley 300-day grain-fed 250g Black Angus sirloin with a herb and mustard crust, soubise, onion rings and sauteed mushrooms. End the feast with Quickes clothbound cheddar, coffee and chocolates. Tickets are $160 per person and bookings are essential.
