Recipe - Chocolate Fondant

Melt someone’s heart with this simple chocolate fondant recipe. Prepare the day before serving as it needs to set overnight.

RECIPE –

Ingredients –

140g unsalted butter
175g good quality chocolate (60 per cent cocoa solids)
125g castor sugar
1 1/2 tbsp Grand Marnier
4 eggs
3 egg yolks

Method –

Preheat oven to 220 degrees Celsius. Melt butter and chocolate together over a water bath. Lightly whisk eggs, yolks and sugar together. Add to cooled chocolate mix.
Add Grand Marnier then stir in flour until just combined. Fill two thirds of a well greased ramekin or mould with the mixture and set in the fridge overnight. Before serving, place the mould in a saucepan of water (keep the water level at half the height of the mould) and cook for approximately 12 minutes or until it is just coming away from the sides. Sit for four minutes, gently remove from mould and serve with ice-cream.
