Experience NSW Wine with Lowe Wines & Swinging Bridge

04/04/2012 - Two of NSW’s leading winemakers, Lowe Wines and Swinging Bridge Wines, have joined together to promote NSW Wine under the regional banner of ‘NSW Wine, Ask for it’ at the upcoming NSW Wine Experience at the 2012 Sydney Royal Easter Show.

The ‘NSW Wine Experience’ is the culmination of a great deal of work by the NSW winemakers and is a first for the state. The NSW Wine Experience is a representation of NSW’s wine regions, the winegrowers, their wines and their stories.

"The Easter Show is a fantastic location to continue to build the growing awareness of NSW wine,” commented David Lowe, President of the NSW Wine Industry Association (NSWWIA), winemaker and owner of Lowe Wines. "The new ‘NSW Wine. Ask for it’ campaign was launched at the 2012 Sydney Cellar Door as part of the NSW Wine Festival and we had an overwhelming response from both consumers and winegrowers.” “The Easter Show attracts around 900,000 visitors which is an incredible platform to connect with NSW consumers. We will have our wines on hand for tasting, as we tell the story of Mudgee and what make its wines unique, and different from other regions.”

Tom Ward, Vice President NSWWIA, owner and winemaker at Swinging Bridge will be joining David Lowe. “It’s fantastic to see the collaboration of the NSW winemakers,” said Tom. “We are looking forward to showing our wines to visitors of the Show via the ‘NSW Wine Experience’.

The NSW Wine Experience will be complemented by the Show’s ‘Café NSW’ which will offer a unique menu designed by Sydney Showground Estate Chef, Tim Browne and feature Sydney Royal award-winning produce as well as locally sourced NSW produce. To match these regional dishes, a number of NSW winemakers will be presenting their wines through the Café NSW wine list in a stylish wine garden. These wines include the multi trophy-winning 2009 Lowe Zinfandel from Mudgee as well as the recently released 2010 Swinging Bridge Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz from Orange and Canowindra.
“The combination of the beautifully prepared NSW produce at Café NSW, matched with our state’s best wines is the perfect environment to educate these interested consumers,” said Tom Ward.

Cumulus Estate of Orange, Wines of Bathurst and Logan Wines from the NSW Central Ranges will join Lowe Wines and Swinging Bridge with the ‘NSW Wine Experience’. Visitors can learn about the state’s wine regions through talking to winegrowers and by purchasing a range of tasting packages to enjoy in the relaxed outdoor setting, away from the Show’s crowds.

NSW Wine Experience and Café NSW will be located at the corner of Channel 9 Grand Parade and Hume Street (M8 and M10) and will be open daily from the 5th to the 18th of April from 9.30am to 8.30pm.
